For many, the eyebrows are key to creating genuine forms of expression. But, with time and age, many discover that their eyebrows begin to droop as wrinkles form across the forehead. This tends to cause a negative, frowning appearance that may make you feel less attractive than you would like. If this sounds familiar to you, then a brow lift could help.
What is a Brow Lift?
Drooping eyebrows make you look tired and even unhappy, creating a facade that could impact your personal or professional interactions. A brow lift improves this appearance by gently elevating the eyebrows to give you a more youthful and alert appearance. A brow lift can also improve drooping upper eyelid skin, as well as wrinkles between the eyebrows and upper forehead.
Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?
Many individuals are, in fact, excellent candidates for a brow lift. If you have sagging eyebrows that cause you to look unhappy, worry lines across the forehead, furrows between the eyebrows, or excess skin over the eyes, you could be an excellent candidate for a brow lift. Of course, the best way to determine your candidacy for this procedure is to schedule a consultation. This will allow Dr. Ginsburg to more thoroughly assess your concerns and goals, creating a treatment plan that will work best for you.
How is a Brow Lift Performed?
There are a number of techniques that may be used depending on your specific needs and physical features. These techniques range from open brow lift to limited incision brow lift.
During an open brow lift, Dr. Ginsburg makes an incision across the forehead. This incision could be along the hairline or in a forehead crease, to make any scarring as discreet as possible. After making the incision, Dr. Ginsburg will lift the forehead skin, remove any excess tissue or skin, and raise the eyebrows. If necessary, he may also relax or tighten forehead muscles to create the best results.
A limited incision brow lift may be performed for clients who need only the outer part of the eyelids lifted. For this procedure, Dr. Ginsburg will place incisions in the hairline.
Depending on your treatment plan, Dr. Ginsburg will discuss the specifics of your procedure with you during your consultation, so you fully understand what to expect.
How Much Does Brow Lift Surgery Cost in Philadelphia?
The average cost of a brow lift is $1,200 – $6,000. At Providence Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, we calculate your exact procedure cost on a case-by-case basis. This allows us to provide the most accurate total for the included procedures. We are happy to review your total cost and financing options at your initial complimentary consultation. We understand that investing in yourself is no small commitment and do our best to make our services as accessible as possible. For further details, feel free to view our financing page.
Can a Brow Lift Be Combined with Other Procedures?
Yes, a brow lift is often combined with upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and facelift to create a holistic and comprehensive improvement to the face. These procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, and when done together, can shorten overall healing time. You can speak with Dr. Ginsburg regarding your desire for combined procedures to determine the best way to achieve your aesthetic goals.
What Should I Expect from Brow Lift Recovery?
As with any surgery, the amount of recovery time will vary depending on the individual, as well as the types of procedures involved. However, general recovery time for a brow lift is about one week.
The first night after your procedure, you can expect some bruising, numbness and/or swelling, with swelling reaching its peak 48-72 hours after your surgery. These side effects will resolve on their own within two to three weeks, so you can begin to enjoy your new look.
Sensation to the scalp will also begin to return in the weeks following your procedure. However, it is important to be mindful when combing, using a hairdryer, or hot water on the scalp, as the numbness may make it more difficult to feel potential scalding or heat damage.
In most cases, our patients are able to resume full normal activity roughly one month after their surgery. However, this estimation is dependent upon the individual’s normal level of activity and work conditions. Rest assured, the specifics of your recovery process will be discussed during your consultation. Should you have any questions after your procedure, do not hesitate to contact us.

Brow Lift FAQs
How long does an eyebrow lift last?
A brow lift produces long-lasting results, with most patients enjoying results that last 10-12 years on average. The exact duration of your results will depend on things like your age, skincare routine and other lifestyle factors. Dr. Ginsburg can give you personalized tips on how to make your brow lift results last as long as possible.
What does a brow lift do?
A brow lift gently elevates the eyebrows to produce a more youthful and alert appearance. This involves making incisions in the hairline, where they will be well hidden. Through the incisions, the forehead skin is lifted, trimmed and tightened to produce the desired results. The brow lift procedure can be used to reduce wrinkles in the forehead and lift the eyebrows to a more youthful position.
What is the best age to get a brow lift?
There is no perfect age for a brow lift. Instead, patients who are experiencing drooping eyebrows, forehead wrinkles, or furrows between the brows can be fitting candidates for a brow lift regardless of age. This means that patients in their 40s, 50s or 60s can all be great candidates for a brow lift, depending on their cosmetic needs.
How painful is a brow lift?
The brow lift procedure is not painful at all, as anesthetics enable patients to relax comfortably throughout the duration of the procedure. However, patients can expect pain, swelling, bruising and related symptoms during their recovery process. These symptoms will be most severe during the first few days of recovery, during which time pain medications can help alleviate most of the discomfort. Dr. Ginsburg will let you know what kinds of pain medications and pain relief techniques to use to get through the healing process as comfortably as possible.
How much does it cost to lift your eyebrows?
At Providence Facial Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, the cost to lift the eyebrows ranges from $1,200 to $6,000. The exact price of a brow lift will vary depending on the extent of surgery required. For example, a limited incision brow lift is a simpler procedure that requires less surgery, and will therefore be less expensive. An open brow lift is a more extensive surgical procedure that will require more time, and therefore, will be more expensive. Dr. Ginsburg can help you determine which eyebrow lift technique is right for you.
